The documentary tells the story of a family living in the wilderness of northern Canada. The life of the parents and the two daughters consists of a fixed daily programme: you have to draw water from the lake, keep the hut warm and clean, do shooting exercises on snowmen and take care of the sledge dogs. With eight of them, 15-year-old daughter Annika wants to participate in one of the toughest sled dog races in the world, which takes place in Alaska, 3,500 kilometres away...
